Jeffery A. Schanks, 54, of Woodsfield, Ohio passed away on Friday, June 28, 2024 at Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, Columbus, Ohio. He was born on August 10, 1969 in Saint Louis Missouri to the late Lowell Glenn and Judith Ann (Thoenen) Schanks.
Jeff was a 1987 graduate of Union Local High School. He obtained his associates degree in radiology at Jefferson Community College in 1989. He was a hard worker his whole life beginning at a young age when he took on side jobs to help his family. Jeff spent the majority of his employment as a Cat Scan Tech working for several employers and briefly worked for Century Mine. Jeff was an avid historian and an 18th century living history reenactor. He was an original member of Fort Henry Days Wheeling as well as Butler's Rangers. Known for embracing authentic living history, he would go as far as organizing camp trips using only 18th century gear.
