Susanne Weigand

It is with heavy hearts that our Fort Henry Days family bids farewell to a legend. Our event's matriarch, Sue Weigand, passed peacefully this morning surrounded by her family.
One of Fort Henry Days' founding members, and our leader for many years, Sue's passion for history, and love for her reenacting family has long been the glue that holds our event together.
Sue was a force of nature, so full of life and fun and laughter. She never hesitated to tell it like it is when needed, but she had the biggest heart, and would give you the shirt off her back if you needed it. Truly, there were no lengths she wouldn't go to to help a friend.
She often said her love for her reenacting family was her favorite thing about Fort Henry Days. She said it was like a family reunion getting to see everyone each year. Many of those friendships spanned far beyond reenactments and became life long friendships in "the real world".
Her guidance, friendship, love, and laughter will be remembered and missed,
